Weekend Update

Mir’s time of being crazy busy is over. This weekend was the closing weekend of the show at the theatre so now I’ve got three weeks of free time again (who-hoo!) and a paycheck coming to me.

Saturday I got a relatively early start (for a weekend, anyway) and was out of the house by 11:30 or so. I had plans to take a walk and hit up the library. I had to a return a book to the downtown library, then walk up to the Queen Anne branch a pick up a book on Query Letters I had on hold. It was a nice walk, although walking up the hill of Queen Anne Ave and Denny in an hour is a lot of hoofin’ up hills for one day. I got home, cleaned the apartment a bit, did a bit of grocery shopping, baked cookies for the wrap party at the theatre/Julia’s b-day, and then cleaned the apartment a little more. It was the most productive Saturday I’ve had in a while, actually.

Saturday evening we had Cathy, Dorothy, Sheana, Ryan, Samuel and David over for drinks and some Apples to Apples. I had to run to the wrap party at the theatre briefly to deliver my cookies, also to tell Julia Happy B-Day and say good-bye to Karen, who’s moving to Huston. Busy girl, me. Then back up the hill to get drunk with my peeps. It was lovely seeing Samuel, it has been a while. Sweetie that he is he brought me a present, a kind of art deco print from an old cigar box from the 20’s with a hot redhead and it says Radio Queen on it. Very sweet. He also lent me the ‘70’s tv series “Maude” to watch. (Was Bea Arthur ever young?) We made a date that next weekend I’m going over for dinner (which he’ll cook and I’ll bring the booze) and to introduce him to The Mighty Boosh because I know he’ll love it. Also, there’s still a possibility that we’ll be visiting in Colorado at the same time this summer and can hang out, meet and escape from family together. (Whoo-hoo!)

Sunday was Easter which really means nothing to me but an opportunity to have lamb for dinner. I’ve actually been looking forward to having lamb pretty much since April began. (Yum yum). I spent the day at the rents’ (as I would have any way) and we did have a nice proper dinner with lamb, asparagus, salad and potatoes, it was delightful. I think I’m still full, actually. I think I’m dieting now, actually, now that chocolate bunny time is over. :D

All and all a pretty good weekend.
