I just booked a tour of the BBC Television Centre for when I go to London! AAAHH! Sure it's three months away but there's just something about Friday afternoons that makes you think ahead to your vacation. :)

Tell the Queen 'Joe says hello'.

Mir, don't go by airline; book passage on a big ship instead. Right. Well, I hope you have a blast in London! Refresh my memory, please: what will you be doing whilst there? What's the latest news regarding your camera? Will it arrive on time after all, or not?

If your camera fails to arrive in time and you'll be abroad for, say, about a month I'd be more than willing to lend you my Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H9. (I can live without it for a month or so.) I'd send it to you via the U.S. Postal Service - fully insured - and you could return it the same way. Here's what you'd get, on an all-or-nothing basis:

Lenmar AC5 World Travel Adapter/Converter Plug Set

LensPEN Lens Cleaning System

Nylon Memory Stick® Case

Soft Carrying Case (Textile) for Cyber-shot except High-end F/R series (Include shoulder strap)

Sony AC-LS5K AC Adapter w/ AA Connecting Cord for Various Cybershot Digital Cameras

Sony BCTRG Travel Charger for G-Series Battery

Sony CR 2025 - Battery CR2025 Li 160 mAh

Sony Cybershot DSC-H9 8MP Digital Camera with 15x Optical Image Stabilization Zoom

Sony LCS-HB Soft Textile Carrying Case for Sony DSC-H7/H9 Digital Still Cameras

Sony MSXM8GS 8 GB Memory Stick PRO Duo (Retail Package) [CD]

Sony NP-BG1 Type G Lithium Ion Rechargeable Battery Pack for Sony W Series, T20, T100, N2, N1, H7 & H9 Digital Cameras

Sony VCL-DH0774 74mm 0.75x Wide Conversion lens for Sony DSC-H7/H9 Digital Still Cameras

Sony VCL-DH1774 74mm 1.7x Tele Conversion lens for Sony DSC-H7/H9 Digital Still Cameras

Sony VCT MTK - Tripod - table-top

Sony VF-74MP 74mm MC Protector

Sony VMC-MHC1 1.5 Meter HD Output Adapter Cable for Cyber-shot cameras

Of course, you'd have to be willing to replace any items which become lost. One of the carrying cases was used for the camera and those accessories which were good to have at hand; and the other case held leftover accessories. The case with the camera went with me - on my person at all times, never in any kind of baggage - throughout the trip I took last autumn to Canada, Iceland, The Netherlands, the United Kingdom and France. The other case, with the remainder of the accessories, went inside my one and only suitcase. It all returned home safe and sound, so if I can do it you can too.

Think about it, at least. 'Bye for now!

"Who goes by boat? It's not the 1920's." (mighty Boosh)

Thanks for the offer of the camera, though I'll be getting mine either today or tomorrow (weee!) I ordered a new one with the help of Jaden and am very excited to get it in. But thanks for the offer.

I'm in London for mostly pleasure but also a bit of business and to go to tour two of the shools I'm going to be applying to. I'm going to 1) see the last city on my first tier of "places I must see before I die" and b) to travel all by myself and see how I faire. I want to test myself and see if I can handle 11 days in the big city on my own, because the thought of moving to a new city all by myself is pretty scary to me but I need to make sure I can do it.
