Friday afternoon I took a walk after work, my knee finally feeling good enough to do so but not quite good enough to go on an elliptical machine at the gym. I got Dorothy’s b-day gift while on my walk when I found myself next to Cost Plus. I got her a necklace, pair of ear rings and card. Andy picked me up and we went out to Bush Garden’s for sushi for dinner before heading up to Bothell for the night. Christine texted me to let me know that curling was on and so we RACED north to watch it. We cuddled on the couch, with wine and women’s curling.

Saturday we had a very busy day ahead of us. We picked up Dorothy at the apartment she was house/cat sitting at, dropped off her stuff and her kitty at her own apartment then took her out to lunch at Bamboo gardens. Dorothy’s such a sweetheart that even when we’re taking her out to lunch she’s thoughtful to go to a vegetarian restaurant that two meat eaters would really like (the fake meat was actually very tasty and meat-like). After lunch we went back to my place briefly to pick up some stuff to take to Astro’s for Dorothy’s surprise party then headed over to Astro’s to help with the prep for the party. Unfortunately, we had to miss Dorothy’s reaction to the surprise because we had to head back to the hill. We were double booked for the party and that was the night of the show that I got tickets for as Andy’s Valentine’s Day present (Alkaline Trio at Neumos). We went to the show, drank and people watched though the opening bands, then went down to the floor and I was pleased to see Andy happy and rockin’ out. (I did good for V-Day too, yeay!) After the show, we headed back up the hill, stopping for a hot dog from Hameed, picked up some wine and headed back to the party. By the time we got to West Seattle it was about 12:30 and the party was still going but it was that point in the night where everyone was super trashed and there was just drama, drama, drama in every direction.

Despite the drama we still had a good time. Everyone was pretty entertaining and I have to say, I love my friends so fucking much. They’re such characters. Case in point, take the following story. So probably less than 10 minutes into Andy’s and my arrival we’re both in the kitchen and I’m looking around for a corkscrew to open our wine. Christine is giving big bear hugs to Andy and talking to him about how happy she is that he is making me happy. However she took issue to the CD art that was put on the mix CD that Andy made me for V-Day. I knew she took issue with it when she saw it in my purse last week on taco Tuesday but I had no idea she felt as strong as all this. She was telling Andy “The first dozen roses, those were great, good job. The second dozen roses, wow, even better, Mir totally deserves it. But that mix CD?...” and with that she just SLAPPED him across the face. I was shocked. He was probably doubly shocked. We all laughed. I’ve not seen someone get slapped across the face for (on the whole) doing something right. Highlight of the evening on account of the shock value, I will not forget it. We left when it was apparent that beds were being put together and the night was dying down.

Sunday, Ryan called and we met up with him in the morning at Online Coffee and the three of us all caught up a bit and chatted over coffee, which was really nice. Afterward, Andy dropped me off at the ‘rent’s for my Sunday visit. My mum and I went out to lunch at Meladey’s down the street. We watched UP, which was really cute) and when my dad got home we watched more women’s curling. When my dad was dropping me off at my apartment, there was another car in the alley way so my dad had to reverse back onto the street. I said goodbye, got out of the car and crossed behind it. My dad stepped on the gas, not realizing he was still in reverse. I got run over by my own father! Well, no, I exaggerate. He just hit me and I jumped back. I guess if you’re going to hit anyone it should be family...well the type of family you know wont press charges anyway.

I'm scratching my head wondering what CD artwork could have elicited a slap.

It was a kissy kissy picture. It can be seen in the pic of all the gifts in my V-day wrap up blog, though I don't need to advertise it that much, or I guess shouldn't at least apparently.

Ahhh... ha ha ha, looks like you guys naked making out in bed. Totally not slap-worthy.

Thank you. I'll tell Christine you said that. Though the rum probably had more than a lot to do with the slap.
