Ce Weekend (trying to be breif)

The good:

Friday was opening night at the theatre for An Adult Evening of Shel Silverstein. Stuck around for the party afterwards for a bit, then went home and drank with the neighbors and friends for a while.

Andy, Raye and I went to Alki on Saturday. We took Sparky with us, played some Frisbee, enjoyed the view (both city and people watching), and ate some seafood.

I got to see Oni while she was in town this Saturday. We met up with her after the beach down at Molly Moon’s because I craved ice cream. Raye had to go bartend at the theatre but Andy, Oni and I hung around talking, eventually hit up the apartment and talked on the deck for a little over an hour or so. It was so lovely to see her again. I can’t believe how long it has been since she last came to visit. Also hard to believe it was 3 years ago that I visited her in SF. Crazy. Raye also got a bit longer of a chance to see her when we walked up to the U-District to see her for Kareoke at Dante’s. It wasn’t a long visit, about an hour twenty at most, but it was longer than the five minutes Raye saw her at the icecream place. Plus se

Andy and I went to go cheer on Cathy at her kickball game Sunday afternoon. It was fun to watch. Plus her team, the iBallers, totally won and are going to the play-offs. Way to go future Librarians!

After the kickball game we had a very pleasant visit with the ‘rents, sitting on the porch with cocktails, spinach dip, steaks on the grill and catching up on Dr. Who.

The less than good:

I got a nasty bump on the head Friday night. Ouch. Thank god for a full head of hair. This was a huge bump.

My couch got ruined so as I’m not going to get anything for it when I leave. I’m sympathetic towards the circumstances but I’m really not pleased about it. It also sucks because it’s a designer couch, my dad’s rich friend gave it to me and I’ve managed to keep it in good condition for the last 4 years. I was going to keep it, give it to Andy while I was away so I could reclaim it when I got back, but Christine offloaded her old couch and love seat on him so I thought maybe I could sell it for a little extra dosh for London. Now I think I have to just post it on the free bin on Craigslist when it’s time to go. Boo.

We ran into Dilo in our alley on our way out to meet Oni. She was walking her dog, which caught eyes with Sparky and they both started barking at eachother. I looked up and thought “is that?” then looked over at Raye who said softly “is that Dilo?”  Suddenly, she shouted at us, “I DON’T GIVE A FUCK!” and just went off talking shit about Samuel and David (who she had a falling out with.) Dude, seriously? We had just looked at her and she started barking angrily moreso than the dogs and completely unprovoked. You’re forty something years old, lady. Grow up! The confused look on Andy’s face was pretty priceless, though.

Andy’s neighbors’ tiny little dog got out Sunday morning. We spent the morning helping them look but didn’t have any luck. Fortunately, when we returned from the Kickball game the little girl was waiting for them at the shelter in interbay. So there was a happy ending but that search is so frantic and you feel so helpless. People in Queen Anne are really nice, though. At least that bit had a happy ending.

I'm REALLY confused about the confrontation with Dilo. Did I miss something? Is she crazy now?

Yeah I think so. She and Sam had a big falling out, I think, like summer of '08 would be my guess. I don't even recall all the detials but Sam (who I'm aware of who I'm getting my story from but I believe him) wasn't the one out of line. Yeah, she went crazy. She always had this strong victim mentality and this attitude that the world was out to get her.
