Weekend (Ta da!)

I’m super sleepy, sore and slightly sunburned. All signs, of course, of a successful summery weekend. Saturday, Andy and I went out to pick up the dining room table and chair set he got off Craigslist. Afterward we went to the park on the top of Magnolia and played catch for a little wile. We’re getting some practice in before the Schmee softball game next month and I wanted to break in the new softball glove I bought for the occasion. We played for maybe a little over an hour at the park. In the evening we set up his table and chairs and christened the new furnishing with a lovely crab leg & steak dinner Andy made. Lovely, no?

Mmmm crab legs.

Sunday it was still nice out (though not as nice as the day before). We went and picked up my mum and we headed over to the Ballard Locks. Andy hadn’t been there before and it seemed like a nice, free way to be out and enjoy the sun. After that we went over to Ballard and had la patio lunch at Volterra. The food was good but I was especially excited by this salt and fennel stuff that you put in olive oil and dip bread into. Oh god it was so good. I want to make this shit at home (I really love fennel.) After Lunch we went and had Gelato before taking my mum back home. We got back to Andy’s and I remembered that we were invited to go see Cory’s first softball game that evening at Green Lake so we collected Sparky and headed up to meet up with Raye, Christine & Cory. It’s a good thing we went too because  it turned out that there was a player on his teem that didn’t show up and they were required to have like four females on the team to play. I still had my glove in Andy’s car so I went back and got it and filled in the gap in the game. I didn’t do too bad at all. They put me in right field so luckily I didn’t have to do much field work. (When It came to throwing I was sore from the day before). I had three at bats with two hits, 2 runs, and an RBI. Cory’s team won 18 to 9. The ref called me MVP but that was not so much how I played but just the fact that I DID play and I happened to own a glove and a vagina. It was super fun. Today I’m hurting though. Muscles I didn’t know I have are sore. Ouch!
