So in my last post I wrote about the chick that came to look at the apartment/my room. She seemed really interested, signed a contract with Raye, said she would have the money by Friday and then bailed out via text message. Yeah guess what, funny thing. She applied for my job as well! Based on what I know of her (name, place of employment, how long she’s been living in the city) it was her without a doubt. Based on her obvious cowardice and flakeyness she went immediately into the ‘no’ pile. I did, however get a chuckle over it and told the story to Marna & Terry. I texted Raye as well to let her know as well. Even though she went into the no pile, we all thought it would be funny just to see the look on her face when she saw my face at the interview. I could say something along the lines of “I don’t think you’re a good fit, the office might be just too small for you.”

Friday night there was a little reunion of the Edmonds Crew at the Cha Cha. Stephanie put it together on Facebook as I’ll be gone in 2011 when our 10 year reunion comes around (holy aging shit Batman!) Really who needs reunions when there’s Facebook anyway. I mean I’m in touch with many of the peeps from my high school friends group through there, so it’s not like I’m in the dark as to what people are doing these days. Still it’s another thing to actually come together and enjoy the company of people you haven’t seen in a while. It always warms my heart to see Stephanie. I also got to see Irene (a total surprise), Shawna, Vanessa, Ian, David, Matt & Livia, not to mention Victoria (though she was working the bar and quite busy). The night got not so much hazy but confusing at the end of the night, I turned my back and people disappeared. I guess some peeps went out for a smoke and couldn’t get back in on account of the line and took off to various other bars so there was the anti climax of having no goodbyes. Some people who said they were going to show up didn’t, one of which was Shannon which was a disappoint to me but she got in touch with me later and we have plans to see each other after all which is neat. At the end of the night a stumbled home, picked up a hotdog from Hameed and woke up the next morning covered in mustard and cream cheese from my drunken messy hot dog. Good times.

Saturday, was to be Astro’s Surpise birthday party. I went over to Andy’s (who incidentally is now on LJ at waldorkio ) in the afternoon. To say the least he had an overwhelmingly shitty week between Chase fucking him over, sickness, stress, insomnia and a kidney stone. I didn’t think he was going to make it to Astro’s party on account of not feeling well. I figured I would collect his card for Astro and go it solo, but much to my pleasure he was feeling well enough to go. We had been planning Astro’s b-day for over a month and it had been a rather, dramatic process. Luckily it all went well. The guests were not as many as we had hoped but the decorations looked great, the Double Header was pleased with the business we did bring in, and most importantly Astro seemed genuinely elated with his surprise and his gifts and the amount of effort put forth. I haven’t uploaded the pictures yet, but I will soon.

Sunday, Andy and I went to go see Dinner for Schmucks. He actually introduced me to the French original film it was based from, The Dinner Game, and showed it to me when we first started dating. The new/American is a good balance of homage to the original with new additions. We enjoyed it and were cracking up (there are definitely some quotable lines in there) but the woman next to me in the theater was just stewing the whole time. She was there with her son (aged anywhere between 19 &22) and she downright resented being there. In the beginning I heard her say “This movie is stupid. You owe me a movie ticket.” Then later she said, “You owe me two movies.” By the end of the movie she was saying “You owe me five movies.” She particularly seemed pissed at any jokes involving sexual innuendo. However at one joke, towards the end when things are particularly absurd and there’s a pretty hilarious monologue by Steve Correll showing off his mice dioramas, the audience was rolling and she just sat up in her seat, looked around and said “What’s wrong with you people!” It’s called having a sense of humor, lady. Chill the fuck out.

Speaking of not having a sense of humor, I had the day off on Monday to go run errands like getting my biometric scan for my Visa and go to the DOL. At the immigration office, err sorry Department of Homeland Security when I was getting my biometrics done, I had the coldest lady ever running my finger prints. She spoke so softy I couldn’t hear her and she got So obviously irritated with me for being difficult. The first thing Andy said when we walked out of the building and lit a cigarette was “sorry to see you ended up with Cunt-zilla in there.” Afterward, we both needed to go to the DOL. The staff there, just for the record, were way nicer, though the wait was considerably longer. So Andy is now officially licensed here in Washington State. And I, after many years of being told to do so by Christine, finally have an ID that looks like me!! It only took me 3 or 4 years and right before I leave the country. After errands, I introduced Andy to Blue Moon Burger in Freemont, then after an afternoon nap we went over to visit my ‘rents. All in all it was a good weekend. Got to see old friends, got to see out the birthday party for Astro, got to be productive but also escape and spend good time with Andy.

As far as I know all I'm doing next week is tutoring from 4-6 on Monday and Wednesday, I am gone at camp from the 22nd-28th and then I have no set schedule for anything when I get back...I'm pretty open :) haha.

How's the 17th or 19th then? Or later after camp though I feel that with each week things are gonna get more and more crazy for me.
