Saturday Andy and I got up in the morning and went over to my ‘rents’ to help my dad clear out their storage space of old theatre stuff to make room for my boxes when I move out of the apartment. Afterwards, my dad took the stuff to donate to the theatre while Andy and I stayed at the house and had lunch with my mum. After that, we headed up to the Hill and Miller Park for softball practice. We had a good practice for about an hour and a half or so and the Schmee teem was looking good. Afterward we fetched Raye and went back to Andy’s. Raye, Christine & 1 had plans to have girlie time to go look for fabric swatches for our dresses for Christine’s wedding. Although the wedding isn’t until next October, I’m going to be gone and doing things kind of remotely so Christine wanted to get this done before I go (though she’s likely to totally change her mind many times over before the big day).

After our girl time Andy picked me up and the lot of us (myself, Andy, Raye, Christine, Cory & Luke) headed over to Golden Gardens where jadens_world  had invited us out for a bonfire. I haven’t been to golden gardens since, like 2006. I’m glad to got to visit it before I go. I forget how pretty and fun it is there. It was great to see Jaden. I’ve missed that one a LOT. I think when I last saw him was when Raye & I visited him at the hospital. Shame on both of us as we only live four block away from each other. He and Cory got along swimmingly in their own smart-ass way. He and Andy got along quite well also, though I’m pretty sure he pulled Andy aside at one point to give the big brother-like “don’t hurt Miranda or I’ll kill you” speech (not that it’s really needed with this one but the gesture is appreciated). We sat and watched the sunset talking and joking, taking pictures. Then at dusk it and sat around the fire, talking, smoking, drinking beer laughing. At the end of the night when was time for us all to part ways, he told me how proud he was of me for going for my dreams in going to London for school. To think, he’s known me for 10 years, since I was 17, and has either been around, or at least in contact for advise or to make jokes, during the major events in my adult life, it was really awesome to see him before I embark on this next chapter in life. Pictures of the night are forthcoming.

Sunday was the Schmee vs. Balagan softball game at Miller Park. This little match had a bit more pride at stake than the game vs Annex for a number of reasons. It was for about half of the game a tighter match than our slaughter of 24-4 against Annex. This game went back and forth for the first four or innings or so but ultimately the Schmee came out on top at 15 to 6.(Woot!) after a full 9 inning game. Andy and I didn’t hit as well as we were hitting at practice the day previous. I had to compromise with Karen Jo and trade off for the catcher position.  I also had an embarrassing outfieliding blooper when a grounder coming straight for me blew right between my legs. It was also nice to see Raye, Christine & Cory cheering us on. It was a good, fun game and the Schmee stands triumphant as the most bad-ass theatre on Capitol Hill. After the game Raye, my dad, Andy & I went out for lunch at Six Arms and did some coordinating of my move.

Finally, I gotta mention the new fromagerey on the Hill, the Calf and Kid Cheese Shop. My dad and I went to go check that place out after lunch and I love it. It’s that new place on Melrose where there’s an indy butcher, cheese shop, wine shop and sandwich place. It’s awesome. It’s very classy and European. You can buy some cheese, drink some wine, pick up some meet. If I had money this is where my European-wannabe ass would go regularly. And the cheese we picked up was SO GOOD. Of course one of these places pops up right before I leave. Just my luck. All my cheese aficionado freinds should go there and keep this place in business 'till I get back.

That cheese place is Sheri's place! I haven't been there yet, but she's a cool girl.

Well for what it's worth you can tell her her place has the Mir stamp of approval. (Which isn't worth much) Check it out, though the butch would be more low carb friendly.
