Update on the stuffs and the things...

Yesterday went to a Mariners game for my dad's birthday. It's kinda become a tradition to go to a ball game for his b-day. Though they got rid of the seats we got last year and really liked, we were in the second row behind the outfield by first base and it was a good view. The guys in front of us were heckling Detroit's outfielder, which you don't see too often in Seattle and that was entertaining, and I think they actually might have got to him. Man, those stands were pretty empty. I guess as is the case for a Monday night game. Stadium food has gone downhill too, our hot dog buns were stale and our garlic fries were cold. Is everyone working for the M's phoning it in? Well we won at least 6 to 2 so that was nice.
I was sick this weekend but didn’t let it stop me from having a nice last dinner at Broadway Grill before they close with Anna Raye, Lindsey and Andy on Saturday night. Even though I’m not a Capitol Hill kid anymore and haven’t been there in so long I didn’t even know that my favorite dish was no longer on the menu, I have a lot of memories of that place. Actually coming to the hill and up to Broadway, makes me kinda sad now because it’s so different and gentrified, on some blocks it’s barely reconizable. But that doesn’t change the fact that I miss it.

Last week Andy was busy with the user’s conference, his work's big event every year. Not only was he super busy but he was also selected to stay in the penthouse suite of the Fairmount Hotel as host to the schmooze-fest. Sounds pretty sweet but it turned out there wasn't very much actual sleep involved for him in those two nights. Of all the weeks he's gotta not be around it was the same week Raye, Dani and Samuel were out having a blast in New Orleans. However, I entertained myself with a b-day dinner at my rents (for my dad’s birthday proper) and a wonderful 2 hour long skype date with Cathy! The pets too were also extra neurotic with only one human around. After my skype date with Cathy I had a dog and a cat sitting on me while I watched episodes of Say Yes to the Dress (because wedding planning just engulfs one’s life, apparently) Speaking of which…

We got our wedding invitations printed (mostly). Unfortunately I didn't learn until after they were printed that it is bad etiquette to put your registry link on the invitation. Whoops. Our bad. I’ve never done this before, please, please, please excuse my lack of tact. In the words of the first facebook message I sent to Andy “I’m sorry, I’m a right cunt” Also there was a stupid thing on Yahoo today that I read that made me feel totally guilty for having a wedding, especially one that’s out of the way outside of Seattle nevermind the rude nerve I must have for inviting people from across country or across the pond. Stupid internet making me feel guilty. Luckily, I got an e-mail today that my wedding dress has come in to the shop which has put me back in a squee girlie mood. Haters gonna hate, I’m going to look fabulous in my amazing dress.

That Yahoo article is crazy. No one spends that much to attend a wedding. No one.

Also, no one will care about your link being on your invite. You think people are framing them ;)? It's to the point and tells people where they can get a gift if they want to. It's hard not to get wrapped up in wedding crap, but it will all be okay. Take a big breath (I don't remember 85% of mine...I do remember all the stress leading up to it...so what does that say hahah). Relax!!!!

Baltimore baby ... we were playing Baltimore ... sheesh, were you even AT the game?!? LOL

(Love you)

And I agree, no one is gonna give us hell for putting our honeymoon registry on there -- if anything, we'll get more notice -- MARKETING baby!
