Weekend update

Ugh, I've been trying to get to this entry but it just hasn't been happening. I've been rather moody--grumpy, irritable--this work week. I'll try not to let that influence my recollection of the weekend which was actually pretty good.

Questionable Content
This weekend was a QC weekend. It's crazy how quickly a month goes by. Though I am jazzed about every show, once we got the confirmation that we would get two primetime weekends in August, this last late night show felt like a hurdle we had to overcome to get there. It was so frustrating to try to get people to come out late at night or stick around after 4 Dogs and have them say, "its too late, I'll come to primetime in August." That didn't help me when I needed it. I was almost certian that we'd have to do another truncated show, which would have been a shame becasue we had a really good panel.

Though the crowd was small Friday night we luckily had enough folks to warrent doing a show thanks to Jose, Dani, Tracie, Dorothy and Andy being there. It was a great show, one of the best, actually.

I was concerned about Saturday for sure though becasue I knew I didn't have a group of friends in the audience...Just Raye, working the bar. However, much to my surpirse we had a couple more people than the night before. Most importantly there were a handfull of our sponsors in the audience. They seemed to be having a good time, so that was a good, The panel was a little drunker a little more unwieldy but it was still a good show, though not as tight as the first.

It's a relief to have the June shows behind us so we can focus full speed ahead at our primetime slot in August (8 & 9, 14 & 15). We've got some ideas in the works for marketing, improving the show. We have confidence that when we're not on at 11pm the show's going to get the audience it deserves. We're scheduled to go back to late night in September, but we're looking into other options. I feel the show has eveloved beyond late night. It'll crush us to have prime time slots only to go back to late night and if our newfound audience isn't able to stay up late with us, it's going to really put us back. So, as I've said before, watch this space. More news to come. Fingers crossed this was our last 11pm curtain.

Schmee Birthday
Saturday was also the one year anniversary of the Belltown space for the Schmee. We had a staff meeting that day so I bought a cake to celebrate.

Happy birthday Schmee!

On Sunday Raye came over and Andy made Crocque Madam again fro bruch and after a bit of a reast, Raye and I worked in the back yard. Andy got some plants at Fred Myer and Raye and I planted 'em, We got tomatoes, peppers, zucchini, some cilantro. Fingers crossed I can keep them alive. But hey, usuing them cleaned out planters.

I'm so distracted writing this post. I don't know what's wrong with me I really can't focus right now so I'll just leave it at that.
